The World Star Challengers Invitational is a new tournament in 2026. A successor to the Asia Masters, it takes the same concept but expands it into a global event. The WSCI is a World Championship between the best tier 2 teams in each region, the first of its kind.
With all of China, Asia-Pacific, and South America eliminated, only South Korea, Europe, and North America moved on to the playoffs. However, all of their teams advanced.
This is the first time that teams from Korea’s, Europe’s, and North America’s tier 2 leagues will face off. EU has a legitimate chance to win this tournament. However, they’re going up against T1 Esports Academy that is home to the trainees who go on to win Worlds.
KT Rolster Challengers has similarly high-caliber players with Park “FenRir” Kang-jun who made an impressive entrance with KT’s main roster. Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun is also a literal World champion, but he’s remained on the bench through this tournament. Currently, NA has also overperformed in this tournament, but this is unlikely to last through the playoffs.
